Ilmar

Ilmar is the pseudonym of two artists in their own right who have both been painting since 1970 and who started in 1990 to paint together. Ilana begins by painting the background with abstract textures in acrylic and Mario completes the pictures by painting in oil. They are presently working on a collection of paintings for an exhibition to be held shortly in Herzliya.

Ilana and Mario can be found at "William's House" a stone house built in 1931, during the British mandate, by a British geologist. It is located in an idyllic setting in the desert, overlooking the Red Sea. The house has been in the possession of the Ofer family since 1957 and serves as a home, a gallery and a guesthouse.
